Grades 4 and 5 had a great time today with Sarah Brennan talking about her books and the writing process she used to write them. She had some great advice! Apparently children who read for pleasure make better writers, have more imagination, more empathy, a broader vocabulary, use more rich words in their conversations, and have more empathy than non readers. She said that books are rich food, and digital toys are popcorn. My favourite quote though is "Its impossible to read without painting pictures in your mind". Find out more about Sarah Brennan here.
